Asian Sign Languages Dictionaries and Teaching Materials

As part of the research output of the Asia Pacific Sign Linguistics Research and Training (APSL) Program, dictionaries and teaching materials on a number of Asian sign languages were published. All of the materials are written by deaf researchers receiving trainings in sign linguistics and sign language teaching through the APSL Program together with their trainers. The languages covered are Cambodian Sign Language, Filipino Sign Language, Ho Chi Minh City Sign Language, Hong Kong Sign Language, Jakarta Sign Language, Sri Lankan Sign Language and Yogyakarta Sign Language. Being the very few linguistic descriptions (and in most cases the first linguistic descriptions) written on these languages, the dictionaries and teaching materials are significant in documenting the languages and describing the linguistic properties of the languages, apart from facilitating teaching and learning of the various sign languages.
