項目摘要:
「手語作為聾人溝通媒介 － 在學校提倡香港手語之試點計劃」是本中心與本港一所聾校和教育統籌局聽覺服務組聯合推行的「聾的意識」項目。
目的:
- 於聾人學校環境內，探索香港手語作為溝通語言的效果。
- To help hearing teachers of deaf students and hearing students to appreciate the nature of sign language in Deaf communication
活動:
- 本項目包括開辦手語輔助閱讀計劃班、研討會、工作坊、和為家長、聾校老師和健聼學生而設的手語班，和以香港手語為教學語言的中文實驗班。
- 研究員透過觀察課堂，研究學生的學習過程，以及聾校老師對使用自然手語作為溝通語言的接受程度。
重要性:
- 這是香港聾人教育史上首個探索香港手語作為課堂溝通媒介效果的計劃。
- 研究成果令家長及教師對聾童手語及口語的發展有更深入的了解，並重新評估手語於聾童發展中文讀寫能力中的角色。
