“Deaf students taught their hearing peers that everything is possible as long as you are working hard for it.”
Yung Mei Ki’s (hearing student) mother
Mei Ki has improved a lot since joining this programme. Her academic results greatly improved because there are one deaf and one hearing teacher teaching together in class, where they are able to take care of every student. Deaf students taught their hearing peers that everything is possible as long as you are working hard for it, even if you lost your sense of hearing. After learning sign language, Mei Ki also shows huge improvement in her confidence. She is now a junior sign interpreter in school. This is an encouragement to her and also a chance for deaf and hearing students to support and care about each other.
