“I want to be someone useful to the world!”
Ho Sin Ting (deaf student)
I think I was a naughty and stupid kid before. When I first came to this school, I didn’t know anyone here and I couldn’t use speech to communicate with people. One day in P.2, I could finally talk to the hearing students for the very first time, in both signing and speech. I was very happy that we could all learn and play together. From that day on, I have made more friends and my life has started to change. Thanks to my classmates and teachers, now I know sign language, and I can speak better. I love the class very much and I hope it will never end. Without this programme, deaf students would have a lot more difficulties in learning and they would have a lot less friends. Their days in schools wouldn’t be happy anymore. Now with sign language and the school activities, we learn and grow. If I wasn’t in this programme, my life would have been terrible, and I wouldn’t have grown into what I am today. I would have become a "useless” person, but I don’t like it this way. I want to become someone useful to the world!
