Programme objectives:
The programme covers the topics of how signs can be collected from the deaf population (Introduction to Sign Language Research), how signs should be analyzed
linguistically into different sub-components (Formational Structure of Sign Languages) and what knowledge and techniques are required in compiling, writing and editing sign language dictionaries (Sign Language Lexicography). Training on elementary Hong Kong Sign Language (Hong Kong Sign Language I) and English grammar (Basic English) will also be offered as a foundation for further training.
