Signs are divided into 3 categories. One is called Monomorphemic, which means it is a single sign. Another one is called Bimorphemic, meaning that it is composed of two signs. The last one is called Polymorphemic, which means this sign consists of more that one single sign to form its meaning. Example of a compounded sign would be FAMILY, which consists of three single signs: FATHER, MOTHER and HOUSE. |
